How does Sculptra work?
The active ingredient in Sculptra® is poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance the body accepts easily. Unlike traditional dermal fillers which use hyaluronic acid to achieve immediate visual results, Sculptra functions as a biostimulator to trigger the body's own production of collagen, gradually restoring natural volume over time.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending on the patient's age and existing skin laxity, between 1 to 3 initial treatments spaced 6 weeks apart may be required for optimal results. Individual maintenance sessions are recommended annually. Each session includes 2 vials of Sculptra, which is sufficient for full face treatment.
When will I see results?
Results will develop gradually over 3 to 6 months as collagen production increases, leading to natural-looking improvements. Visible results may last for up to 2 years.
How is Sculptra different from dermal fillers?
Unlike traditional fillers that provide instant volume, Sculptra works gradually by stimulating your skin’s natural collagen production. It doesn’t just fill, it helps rebuild your skin’s structure over time for results that last longer and look more natural.
How long do the results last?
Results can last up to two years or longer. Because Sculptra encourages your body to produce its own collagen, the improvements tend to look natural and age gracefully with you.
What areas can Sculptra treat?
Sculptra is most commonly used on the cheeks, temples, jawline, and nasolabial folds. It can also improve skin texture in areas that have lost firmness due to aging or weight loss, such as the neck. Sculptra cannot be used to treat the under eye / orbital area or the lips / perioral area. For these areas we instead recommend PRF and/or Dermal Filler treatment.
